7th grade math teacher Mrs. Evans attended the Building Thinking Classroom professional development last week. CAMS piloted the BTC curriculum years ago and has been instrumental in bringing the program to other math classrooms in the district. Mrs. Evans got to meet the author of the movement, Dr. Peter Liljedahl! He is a Professor of Mathematics Education in the Faculty of Education and an associate member in the Department of Mathematics at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. He has authored or co-authored 13 books, 41 book chapters, 39 journal articles, and over 50 conference papers!

Bloomfield Public Schools has been busy all week showing all of our staff members just how much we appreciate everything they do on behalf of Bloomfield students. We chose the week of May 5th-9th because it's National Teacher Appreciation Week! If you see one of our teachers, or any of the supporting staff members that make our schools and district great, please thank them for all they do!
